BACKGROUND

How did you get into your field?

In 2010, I spent several weeks helping a friend who had surgery on both shoulders and one hip with her exercises at home. I also went with her to her Physical therapy appointments. The more I was exposed to physical therapy the more I loved it! I was already working as a personal trainer and teaching Pilates and was excited by the idea of combining these disciplines with physical therapy.

What is your training background?

For nine years I worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant in San Francisco. I returned to school to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy which allowed me to step into my role as a PT and grow in my career.

Who influenced your career path (who have you enjoyed learning from, mentor, etc)?

Working with a friend at her fitness studio had a huge influence on me and inspired my love of fitness, incorporating movement and life-long learning.

What makes you love your field?
