How did you get into Health and Wellness?
I began working for a large fitness corporation while in college as the assistant manager to their customer service and member management team. I was studying Health Promotion and Education and knew my future would be in health and wellness in some capacity.
From there, I transitioned into sales for the same fitness corporation and fell in love with the business side of wellness.
How long have you been working in Health and Wellness?
I spent just over 10 years in my first sales role focusing largely on acquisition, retention, corporate partnerships, as well as new club openings.
From there, I accepted a position in development with a start up fitness company and worked with studio owners to build and grow their businesses and teams.
By incorporating teaching and training into my career, I feel as though I am able to blend my two passions beautifully.
Who influenced your career path (who have you enjoyed learning from, mentor, etc)?
I was very fortunate to have strong leaders to look up to in the fitness industry from day one. Many of my colleagues and leaders became close personal friends and still are to this day. They are phenomenal people that I can go to for career advice, expertise, and just to ask questions. This sounding board of different people has been vital in my career development.
What makes you love your field?
Knowing my clients are able to achieve their goals personally and professionally! Whether that is an hour of alone time away from their daily stress, bettering their mental health, conquering physical goals, or growing their businesses and maturing professionally. I have always wanted to be a part of making others feel good about themselves and to leave a lasting impression with those I come into contact with.
What kind of clients do you love working with?
There is such a sense of community and camaraderie within the health, wellness, and fitness industry which makes working with any organization and client so rewarding.
I love working with teams and clients though that are just starting out or are fairly new. I think there is magic in building from the ground up, creating, and really getting in the trenches with your team so make something beautiful.
What sets you apart from other professionals?
My passion. I know what it feels like to grow a business or bring a business to a new market and I love getting to build with my teammates.
I also know what it feels like to come back from an injury, or to set important fitness goals for yourself. Or even to need that hour a day when you don’t have to worry about anything else. This is why I also have a heart to bring the same happiness Pilates has brought me, to my clients.
What’s your mission?
My mission is to enrich people’s lives through health and wellness. If what I am doing is bringing health, wellness, and fitness to people’s lives, then I know I am doing what I am meant to do.
Wellness is so vital to everyday life and can truly transform someone from the inside out. As long as I’m making a difference in this way, I feel as though I am fulfilling what I am meant to do.
I also love to meet my clients where they are with Pilates. Everyone has different goals and whatever those goals may be, I know that Pilates is an amazing catalyst to achieving them.
What brings you joy?
Relationships. I have always known that relationships are one of the greatest gifts we receive on this earth and the greatest gift we can give to others. I think that is why I not only chose to be in fitness, but chose to build a community with my clients and my teams as well.
By building relationships with my clients and colleagues, we are not only impacting each other in a positive way, but better equipped to positively impact others.
What do you do with your spare time?
I work quite a lot, but love spending time with my family and friends as much as I can. Also, not surprising I love to work out! I love Pilates, Yoga, HIIT classes, you name it! I’ve also been very fortunate to have a lot of friends in the fitness industry so this is also where I get to spend time with them.
I also love exploring our city! There are so many new restaurants and awesome places to visit in Cincinnati! It’s a great time to live here and to take advantage of everything we have.
