Meet Tirzah Mpagi

Tirzah is passionate about helping women (and men) find the best version of themselves through building a healthy relationship with food and finding the root cause of their health issues through functional nutrition. She knows what it’s like to feel frustrated with your health and the way you feel.
She has seen how short and long term periods of dieting negatively affects our hormones, metabolism, gut health and relationship with food. She’s determined to help you make peace with food and your body to find a nutrition approach that works best for you.
BACKGROUND

How did you get into your field?

I’ve always had a love for health, wellness and food. I grew up cooking with my mom in the kitchen and loved to experiment with different recipes. My Dad is diabetic and I grew up watching him struggle with his health and relationship with food. I knew I wanted to learn more about how you can prevent diseases like type two diabetes and ended up discovering the career path of becoming a Registered Dietitian.

What is your training background?

I graduated from the University Of Cincinnati’s Dietetic Coordinated program in May 2019. I then went on to get my Master’s degree and completed that in December 2020. I have a Master’s in Nutrition & am working on my Intuitive Eating Counselor certification. I have been practicing for two years as a Registered Dietitian.

Who influenced your career path (who have you enjoyed learning from, mentor, etc.)?

My family influenced my career path and a high school teacher I was close to at the time. I also have a mentor/coach, Sarah Hall and she has helped me grow my private practice and gain confidence in the field.

What makes you love your field?

I’m passionate about helping women find the best version of themselves through building a healthy relationship with food and finding the root cause of their health issues through functional nutrition. I know what it’s like to feel frustrated with your health and the way you feel. INTERESTS/SPECIALITIES

What kind of clients do you love working with?

I have worked with a diverse background of individuals and have experience counseling a variety of individuals with different ailments and or dietary restrictions. I specialize in working with Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating, Intuitive Eating, GI Disorders (i.e. IBS, SIBO, Crohn’s Disease, Celiac) and Hormonal Imbalances (i.e. PCOS) as well as general wellness counseling to support healthy behavior change. I’m available for in-person or virtual appointments. Let’s work together to find a lifestyle that’s easy, sustainable and full of your favorite foods.

What sets you apart?

What sets me apart from other practitioners is that I focus on having a healthy relationship with food and trusting your body’s hunger and fullness cues. In my practice, I found that many clients were out of touch with their hunger and fullness cues which is essential for learning how much food and what types of foods make your body feel good. I focus on having a healthy relationship with food with my patients and then use that to tackle any existing health issues like hormonal imbalances or gut health issues.

What’s your mission?

My mission is to advance the quality of one’s health through building a healthy relationship with food and emphasizing a healthy gut and hormonal balance. I’m passionate about helping individuals end the stress and cycle of dieting and disorder to reclaim a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

HOBBIES

What brings you joy?

I find joy in spending time with people I love, making a new recipe for my family and helping people find peace in their lives through my practice as a dietitian. In my spare time I enjoy attending live concerts and music festivals. There’s just something about listening to your favorite artist live, surrounded by people who know every word like you. I also love hiking and exploring a new city with my fiance. My favorite place to hike & explore is Colorado. One of my favorite roles in my life is being an Aunt. I love spending time with my nieces & nephews and find joy in watching them grow up. I’ve actually been an aunt since I was four years old.
