Why are our Nutritional Therapists the best in Cincinnati?

Our therapists just get it.

“Dieting” has for years been thought of with a negative connotation, like suffering or testing of one’s will-power. We have become victims to our own choices. We experience guilt, anger and frustration when we choose to eat something.

That said, it’s no surprise that avoidance diets or severely low caloric diets result in weight return or return of symptoms. With Anchor Wellness Center’s Nutritional Therapy and Nutritional counseling you will learn how to diet in a health way while avoiding those fad diets that aren’t always healthy for us.

Integrative Nutritional Counseling

As with any major life change (buying a house, having a child, investing in your retirement), seeking counsel ensures that you save yourself unnecessary time and effort. An Registered Dietitian is a nutritional Counseling expert who can guide you through the process. For better or worse, there is a plethora of trending diets (Keto, Paleo, Gluten Free, Low-Carb, etc) that may or may not be the best for YOU so identifying what may be interfering with your outcomes is paramount.

Work with alongside you, they are not authorities but rather partners. They take into considering your lifestyle, stressors, recreational habits, medial and family history, likes and dislikes to identify goals and create a plan to achieve long-term, sustainable success.

What’s the difference between a Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian?

According to nutritioned.org, “many people mistakenly use the terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” interchangeably. Although these two professions are undoubtedly related, they maintain distinctive qualities.

The biggest difference between dietitians and nutritionists lies in the legal restrictions that each title carries. Only nutritionists that become registered with Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) may legally declare themselves as dietitians or more precisely, registered dietitians (RDs).”

What Can You Expect When Working With A Registered Dietitian?

You can expect to work with an individual who cares about you and your well-being who will not provide a detailed meal-plan because those don’t work. Instead, you can expect to be enlightened to what is potentially hindering your progress and what is likely to positively influence your success. That guidance is based on scientific evidence and clinical experience of those leading you.

The R.D. that you work with with ask you for a full medical history in additional to social and recreational history. He/she will gather data around what has worked for you in the past as well as what has not. It will be important to go through all medications and supplements to ensure that a nutritional intervention does not negatively interact. Additionally, the R.D. will likely ask you about your sleep habits, bowel and bladded routine and daily stress.

You can also expect to learn a ton about the role of food and hydration in your wellness journey!
