Yoga for a Healthy Pelvis: A Pelvic Floor Yoga Workshop

In this workshop, join Sara Koehl, Doctor of Physical Therapy, as we will become more familiar with the anatomy and movement patterns of the pelvis. We will explore how posture and breath influence our pelvic health and practice yoga asana with specific awareness to the pelvic floor and mula bandha. We will dive into why just doing Kegels isn’t enough for most women. We will also explore the mind/body connection that is often overlooked by the medical community when it comes to women’s health issues and look at how cultural roles and expectations influence this important part of our body. This class can be of benefit to yoga teachers as well as for women at all stages of life, and could be particularly helpful for women dealing with incontinence and pelvic pain.
