Gina Frabotta

Movement has always been my language, from my early roots in gymnastics to my years as a dancer. I first discovered Pilates while earning my dance degree at Ohio University, and it has remained the heartbeat of my 25-year teaching journey ever since.

As a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor as well as a Personal Trainer, I’ve worked with a vast range of clients—from professional athletes to those managing chronic back issues, and ages 9 to 100. These decades of experience have taught me that everyone, regardless of their starting point, can improve how they move and feel.

I focus on the precision and small adjustments that transform your daily life. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling stronger, more confident, and truly connected to the joy of what your body can achieve.

Background

My path began at Ohio University while studying Modern Dance. Our curriculum was unique for the time; we had a full Pilates studio right in the dance building. Along with our practice on the mat and equipment, we were formally trained in how to teach the method, giving me a professional foundation in Pilates before I even graduated.

My journey as a teacher started right where I trained as a gymnast. Falling in love with teaching there led me to Ohio University, where I studied Modern Dance and was first introduced to Pilates. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to movement, becoming a Certified Pilates and Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Dance teacher. Teaching has been my life’s work for 30 years, with 25 of those years specifically dedicated to sharing the benefits of Pilates.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to learn from some visionary women, including my first Pilates teacher and a dance professor at Ohio University who saw the value of the method early on. Beyond my formal mentors, my biggest influence has been my colleagues in Portland. We built a unique, supportive community where we took each other’s classes and pursued new certifications together. That culture of mutual encouragement and continuous learning has been the driving force behind my 30-year career."

My love for this field stems from the empowerment movement provides. Sports taught me that mastering my body leads to mastering my life. After 30 years of teaching, my goal remains the same: to give others the tools and physical confidence they need to succeed in everything they do.

INTERESTS/SPECIALITIES

I love working with clients who are truly curious about how their bodies move. I am most inspired by those who want to learn proper execution and improve their body mechanics. I love helping people who are interested in moving better, rather than just moving more, wherever they are in their fitness journey.

What sets me apart is the sheer depth of my experience. Having spent the last 25 years in the studio working with clients ranging from age 9 to 100, I have seen and helped almost every ache, pain, and body type imaginable. It’s a lifetime of university study and twenty-five years of hands-on wisdom.

My mission is to help as many people as possible discover the power of movement.

HOBBIES

When I am not in the studio, you’ll likely find me outdoors. Whether I’m hiking, visiting a winery, or taking my Golden Retriever for a swim, I love staying active and exploring. Most of all, I cherish time spent with my family.
