Karin Reed
Karin has always been passionate about fitness and health. As a curious scientist, she has spent her life studying the science and biology of upgrading the human body and mind, often referred to as ‘biohacking’. With this knowledge and through self-experimentation she effectively biohacked herself.
Equipped with a degree in Chemical Engineering, her first career began as a manager at Procter & Gamble. She had two children and quickly found that it wasn’t enough to biohack herself and her career; she also had to take care of her family and home. She mastered the art of work-life balance. As a P&G Corporate Athlete trainer she taught employees tools to achieve greater health and well-being so that they could perform better on the job and at home. After a second career with Pfizer and having spent most of her life in the demanding corporate world experiencing firsthand that success doesn’t have to mean sacrifice, it’s now her personal and professional goal to help as many people as possible upgrade their lives and realize their full potential.

BACKGROUND
How did you get into your field?
I am a Chemical Engineer and spent over 20 years in corporate leadership positions at P&G and Pfizer. I have always been fascinated with ‘biohacking’ which is the science and biology of upgrading the human body and mind. While at P&G I served as trainer for the P&G Corporate Athlete Employee Wellness program, where I coached employees to improve their health, increase resilience and optimize their energy. In 2018, after 20+ years in the demanding corporate world, I left and trained to become a Certified Human Potential Coach and launched my own coaching business soon after.
What is your training background?
I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and I am a Certified Human Potential Coach. I have been coaching for 5 years.
Who influenced your career path (who have you enjoyed learning from, mentor, etc.)?
For many years I followed Dave Asprey, who is the founder of the Bulletproof coffee brand and considered to be one of the leaders of the biohacking movement,. I worked directly for him as his lead Coach for his mentorship program, called the Upgrade Collective, for the past 3 years. Additionally, I have enjoyed learning from Mark Sisson, Ben Greenfield, Mark Hyman, Wim Hoff, and Deepak Chopra.
What makes you love your field?
I love science and figuring out how things work, and especially the science of the human body and mind. It is fascinating to observe how simple changes to our external environment, lifestyle, as well as what we put into our bodies can have such a tremendous impact on our health, energy, and resilience.
